Emberward - Great Tower Defense Rogue-lite with interesting towers!

I'm a huge fan of the Tower Defense genre but there have been no interesting TD games for the past few years. The last really good TD game I remember was Bloons TD 6 and that came out 6 years ago.
Emberward is a promising title that is still in early access but I had a lot of fun playing it so far. It combines rogue-lite elements and deckbuilding. What really grabbed my attention were the unique towers, that have interesting mechanics. There are dice towers that roll random damage and attack speed, there is a poison shower that pours poison onto every enemy that walks under it, a massive tower that launches fireballs which bounce between enemies and many more. You also collect different relics that have great synergies with your towers or give you some other nice benefits.
And then there is the mazing. You have a deck of different building blocks from which you draw every wave. These are placed on the map to construct your maze but they also can have different kinds of runes that provide boosts for towers placed on them. And since some towers are bigger or need specific building placements, you have to make sure you place the correct blocks in the correct way. I think this game has the potential to become a great hit once it is finished and you should definetely give it a try.
