Sphynx on the BBC! As the The Observer describes it: Hugh Burnett conducted a series of interviews with people who believe in reincarnation. There's the quietly spoken musician dressed up as a mummy (or something) and the lady who knows she's James IV of Scotland. The Best Laugh Of The Week. See also, The Guardian's very sniffy review the next day. "... Nyk Turner, who also believes he was alive in ancient Egypt, conducted his interview dressed as a mummy. 'You were,' said Hugh Burnett with the air of a man who just likes to get things clear, 'you were sitting there in the sarcophagus of the Great Pyramid playing your flute in the dark?' This Nyk agreed, was so and played the result with a group called The Sphinx (assorted mummys and a lead singer wearing a yellow leotard and bird mask and a wrist watch). The song did not make the charts and shortly after The Sphinx broke up..."
