About the Score
For most of the score, I went for a more traditional noir jazz-type sound with brushed drums and muted trumpet on top of the jazz quintet. The music that ends the film and leads into the credits becomes a departure from this since I wanted it to end on a more modern note after the plot twist. This music used the same instruments but also included sampled vocals that I chopped up and processed as well as sampled kick. I also asked Sergio to play with an extra growly sound for the melody which created the distorted, loud trumpet sound when the full ensemble joins in.
