Ervand Abrahamian's public lecture, "Show Trials in Iran," focused on the use and impact of show trials in post revolutionary Iran. It analyzed the effects of changes in the political culture of Iran since the 1979 Revolution, which has essentially reversed the effectiveness of show trials as a legitimizing agent of the state.
