SHAKESPEARE MICRO SERIES Ultralight Rod [First Impressions]

Is this the best overall budget ultralight fishing rod? Perhaps! This thing is literally less than $20 and offers anglers a very affordable start to ultralight fishing. In today's video, I test it out and talk about some of my first impressions on this particular rod.

On this outing, I used this 4'6 ultralight rod for exactly what I feel it is best for... Creek fishing! I chased down small green sunfish in tight quarters so this little rod was perfect for portability on the water. Additionally, I about ate it a few times so I would have been anxious carrying an expensive rod with me. If I would have fallen over and broken this rod, I would have only been out $20!

Overall, I feel this is a great rod for the type of trip I took. I think it is a good option for people who don't want to spend a lot of money but want an opportunity to ultralight fish. THAT SAID, this is obviously a cheap piece of equipment and it is very easy to feel that in the craftsmanship. I don't expect this rod to last a lifetime but I think it will do the job for the time being.
