Garden Grove's Pacifica High School is steeped in history. So, when Mike Buenafe sank the first basket in the Mariners' brand new gymnasium recently, there was something special about it. You see, Mike's dad, Jeff Buenafe made the first shot 56-years-ago in the school's original gym. In those days, Jeff's father, Dr. Albert Buenafe was Principal at the new West Garden Grove High School. Mike is the Freshman Basketball Coach as well as a Teacher at Pacifica. A number of Buenafe's are shaping future history with their work in the Garden Grove Unified School District. GGTV3 Reporter Mark Bedor has the story.
