Jeremy Clarkson has said he didn't know he was given a driving ban from Aston Martin.The 65-year-old journalist made a name for himself for his larger-than-life reviews of cars on Top Gear and the Grand Tour.

Spanning more than 20 years, he presented the shows and has driven thousands of cars from Aston Martins to Zondas.

And Mr Clarkson, who lives on his 1,000 acre farm in Chipping Norton, also regularly writes car reviews in the Sunday Times.

During a recent review in the newspaper, he revealed he had thought he was "red carded" by Aston Martin following his comments on an Aston Martin DBX.He wrote: "After I gave the DBX a firm but fair kicking on these pages, I was red-carded by Aston Martin and banned from driving any of its demonstrators.

"But it didn’t actually show me the red card or even write to say it had been issued. So I never knew.
