Описание к видео Alberta Telfer: Food Supply Chains: Local vs. Global

In this talk we delve deep into the economic, social and environmental realities of a Canadian smallholder. By contrast, we then examine some of the current food supply issues and the impacts of war and climate change. Alberta Telfer's experience as a Trade Commissioner with Global Affairs Canada as well as a small holder farmer gives her a unique perspective on food supply chains with regard to the question of local vs. global.

Alberta Telfer and her family run Summit Hill Farm, a small and seasonal Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) vegetable farm located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in Treaty 7 Territory. She is also a Trade Commissioner with Global Affairs Canada where she works with small and medium sized Agri-food and supply chain technology companies to expand globally. She has worked in Calgary, Edmonton and Denver. She holds a diploma in Supply Chain Management from the University of Alberta and a BA from the University of Calgary in Political Science and German.
