The newly launched Trailblazer SUV was on display at the Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this month. The SUV is based on the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck which was also on display.

The SUV comes with LED tail lights, light sensitive interior rear-view mirror, cruise control, rear-view camera, electronic climate control, projector headlights, leather upholstery, multifunction steering wheel, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and MyLink Touchscreen Infotainment System with USB, Aux-in, steering mounted audio controls and six speakers. It will get a host of safety features like surround airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, brake assist system, hill descent control, traction control, hill start assist and rear parking assist with a camera.

It measures 4878 mm in length, 1902 mm in width and 1847 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2845 mm and it weighs in at 5700 kgs. Ground clearance is 253 mm.

The Trailblazer is available in only one variant. It will be powered by a 2.8 litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 193 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and power will be sent to the rear wheels. The 0-100 kmph acceleration time is 10.6 seconds. The SUV returns 10.52 kms to a litre of fuel. The Trailblazer gets a limited slip differential and it has a water wading capability of 800 mm. The SUV rides on 18-inch wheels.

The vehicle will compete against the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Hyundai Santa Fe, Ssangyong Rexton, Ford Endeavour and the upcoming Nissan X-Trail. It has been priced at INR 26.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
