Lock me up. I’m scratching through the floor. Nail all the windows shut. I’m ripping out all the doors. I can see everything. I got in without ever knowing how. If I ever did then I don’t remember now. Can’t take my eyes off the empty. The cavity swallowed me. Felt as easy as falling asleep. I forget what I ever woke up for. Make no cuts. Please just let it roll. I’m hanging the cameras up. There’s gotta be something more. Just give me anything. Did you look? Did you hold me upside down? And when you shook, did the answers tumble out? I was gone. I rode until the floor gave way. If my daughter cries, I won’t hear her anyway. I was gone when my mother let me go. If I ever lived then I’m sure I’ll never know.
