ILAM, April 27: Voting for the by-election to elect a representative to the House of Representatives in Ilam constituency-2 and provincial assembly member in Bajhang-1(a) is underway.

The voting, which began at 7:00 AM, will continue until 5 PM. According to Chief Election Officer Keshav Prasad Ghimire, voting started peacefully in all 149 polling centers under the constituency.

A total of 745 staff, 1,523 Nepal Police personnel, 710 Armed Police Force personnel, 450 Nepali Army personnel, and 24 personnel of the National Investigation Department have been mobilized to conduct the election in a peaceful and fearless environment, he shared.

The Ilam constituency-2 has a total of 115,889 eligible voters. Among them, 59,018 are male voters, 56,869 are female voters, and two are 'third gender' voters, according to the Election Commission.
