Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection with Loss of Resistance Technique

Описание к видео Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection with Loss of Resistance Technique

3D animation visualizing a sagittal view of the cervical spine with the insertion of a 20 gauge Tuohy needle through the layers of tissue, down towards the spinal canal. Saline is used within the syringe to maintain constant pressure on the plunger and evaluate the resistance to the injection. The syringe contents are injected upon entry into the epidural space signaling the correct placement of the needle with an additional withdrawl test performed to check for blood or cerebral spinal fluid. To further test for correct placement, contrast material is injected into the epidural space. This contract material can be seen on x-ray, providing further confirmation of the correct needle placement.
