The 2nd to last OpenBVE Vid of 2025 & also the 4th to last overall video of 2025 - R46 F train, from Kings Highway to Jamaica-179th Street via Culver & Queens express.

With the retirement of the R46 currently ongoing, it's better to ride on them at least once or twice or more before an official retirement date is announced. However this will at least not be for a long time as there aren't enough R211s to fully replace the R46. From 1975 (the first year of service) to 2019, the R46 previously ran on the F train, and have since been phased out due to CBTC restrictions on the Queens Blvd Line which only allows NTTs such as the R160s. The last R46 was transferred over from Jamaica Yard to Coney Island Yard by early 2019. The A & C trains also no longer use R46s as of early 2025.

In 2014, an R46 set running on the F train derailed on the Queens Blvd Line due to track defects. It was repaired and returned to service in 2016.

Currently the R46 is the oldest NYC Subway train in service, about 50 years old, 3rd behind the SIR R44s by 4 years (54 years old for the R44s, introduced in 1971; although the remaining R44s now run as contingency fleets only due to a large amount of R211Ss available), as well as 2nd behind the 1972 Stock on the London Underground Bakerloo Line, introduced in the namesake year. Since the retirement of the R32s and the BR Class 483s (refurbished 1938 Stock).

This will be the last runs of the
-R46 (final)
-and F train route (final)
both for 2025.
