As followers of Jesus, we face a real challenge with our Christian Faith to sing ALLELUIA with our voices and hearts this coming Easter Sunday in the midst of so much sickness, pain, death, fear and worry. It would seem contradictory, almost disrespectful, to "celebrate" Easter this year. Yet, even though we are surrounded with much sorrow it is our Easter Faith that convinces us that we are not alone for it is the Risen Lord that comforts us, protects us, wipes our tears and allows us to rise from our grief. Our joy in the Lord is not determined by the external circumstances of our lives, but the internal union we have with our Savior. As we journey with our Suffering Lord this Holy Week it takes on very special significance as we make this journey as a worldwide family broken and hurting. Despite the mandatory social distancing and isolation we must observe, let us unite our heavy hearts to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as you participate in the Easter Triduum within your homes --- your domestic church. In the very heart of your home you will come to experience personally our Crucified and Risen Lord.

We invite all watching to make an act of spiritual communion. “My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen"
