Todd McFarlane's Spawn Reboot - Proof of Concept Trailer (2005)

A proof of concept trailer for Todd McFarlane's Spawn reboot, created to give what the "feel" this film was supposed to be based on McFarlane's unproduced script. Filmed by Todd McFarlane and Dave Gittleman, it was screened during McFarlane's San Diego Comic-Con 2005 panel for fans and film investors interested in the project.

Todd McFarlane's original plot would've been a grounded, low-budget horror film about NYPD Detective Twitch Williams investigating the murder of his daughter. Suddenly, a mysterious man named Al helps Twitch in his vengeful quest for justice. McFarlane's reboot planned to have Spawn mostly depicted as a supernatural force, shapeshifted into things such as cockroaches, wolves, or strong gusts of wind. Spawn would've been shown in the film mainly in Al Simmons' human appearance until the film's final climax in his true form.
