What a fun weekend of rugby league in Australia, England and France. A lot of action, a lot of breathtaking footy, and a few things we’ve all come to expect, such as the Panthers rounding into form and Tariq Sims being sent off for doing Tariq Sims things.

He may have been a bit hard done by the send off here but when you have Sims’ reputation, well, better be minding your P’s and Q’s. Anyway, the real star of was the intercept try. There was an obscene number of these over the course of a few days.

Let’s be honest, I’m not the most knowledgeable when it comes to rugby league but this felt a bit odd to me. Maybe you get one or two between the NRL and Super League each round. This weekend we got six. Actually, I’m inclined to say seven although that is up for the debate. Purest and pedants will disagree with me but more on that later.

We start with a Super League matchup coming to Las Vegas next year, although let’s hope it is more competitive than what took place over the weekend. Wigan were outclassed by an increasingly impressive Warrington.

The Wolves managed not one but two intercept tries, one in each half with each winger getting involved in the action. Then the Manly Sea Eagles decided to do one better. When things were all said and done, six intercept tries were scored across rugby league.
