In this video, we will show how you can make a stunning bar counter using your save old champagne and wine corks.
We start to assemble formwork from chipboard. So that later the resin can easily be removed from the formwork, we will cover it with tape. We assemble the formwork with self-tapping screws and treat the corners and ends with a sealant to avoid resin leakage.
Align the formwork horizontally.
Prepare the epoxy resin mix. For this product, we chose a low-viscosity two-component Magestic resin. This composition is mixed in a ratio of 100 to 35.
The material is mixed with a whisk at low speed, poured into a new bucket and then mixed again.

We put all our corks into the resin to provide degassing in the vacuum chamber.
Then we put a bucket over the projected bar counter, and make a few holes in the bucket. This will help to avoid the formation of air bubbles when filling the material.
And then we surely lay out all our corks on the table. An important point: when laying out the corks, we leave a space of 1 cm from the edge for a more convenient and accurate further processing.

The resin has hardened, so we can disassemble the formwork.
Now, you need to sand the surface with a polisher. Here, we use a P80 grit-size disc attachment. After that, we use sandpaper. The most boring stage is over.
We degrease the surface and cover our bar counter with a two-component acrylic varnish. We covered the lower part of the countertop with a matte varnish (a varnish with matte effect). And the front/upper part was covered with a glossy varnish.
