My wife, Pickles, and I headed out to Ionia State Recreation Area to spend Mother's Day Weekend in the great outdoors. We had a short hike in to Beechwood Rustic Campground. Once we had camp set up and some initial rainfall, we decided to tackle the Sessions Lake Trail. We hiked around the park and the lake and though it was a bit muddy and buggy, we thoroughly enjoyed it! Upon returning to the campsite, we cooked up a hearty dinner as well as some Rice Crispy Treats cooked over the fire, followed by Jiffy Pop! It was an absolutely wonderful Mother's Day adventure!
