Front drive shaft install Toyota series 100

Описание к видео Front drive shaft install Toyota series 100

Installing a Front Drive Shaft (FDS) (AKA CV) once old FDS out. This can be done with knuckle on or off. This is just the install, which is very easy. This is a new Toyota series 100 front drive shaft. They come with a new snap ring (always use new snap). Snap ring must be pointed open end down during install. I use a new differential seal, which best practice with change in FDS. I use grease to hold snap ring in place. Grease is also used on lip of seal to aid in install. Care must be taken while installing to not move seal. So guide FDS into differential with care, with slight twisting back and forth while sliding in to mesh teeth of gears. Once in with less than and inch to go, it will hang up on the snap ring. To seat snap ring all the way, use the sliding action of the inner CV joint to snap/pop in place. Once seated the dust seal lip will be just inside differential. The outer FDS dust shield will bend easily. So make sure outer dust cover does not contact lower control arm (LCA). I just place a piece of wood between FDS and LCA just behind the dust cover to keep off LCA and protecting seal.
