In the first episode of our new endeavour - Herne Katha Lok Studio, we bring you the folk songs and their stories from Melauli, Baitadi, in the far-west of Nepal. In "Madhu Melauli", we present a collection of folk songs still in practice, and others that are going extinct. These include Chalia, Chaitalo, Hudkyauli, Sajiwali, Phag, Sagun, and others.

तर यी गाउँका गीतका कथा भन्दै गर्दा हामी अलिकति डराएका छौं र धेरै उत्साहित छौं ।
आम मान्छेका कथा खोज्दै गाउँघर डुलिरहँदा सुनिने भाकाहरूले मन एकतमासको बनाउँथ्यो । कहिले हसाउँथ्यो । कहिले रुवाउँथ्यो। धेरै त आनन्दित बनाउँथ्यो । अनि मनमा प्रश्न उठिरहन्थ्यो यी गीतका कथाहरू के होलान ? कसले भन्लान् यी धुनका कथाहरू ! यी बाजाहरू सदियौंदेखि कस्ता कथा बोकेर थोत्रिएका होलान् ? यिनका कथा कस्ता होलान् ?

यी गीतहरू हामीले देखाउने प्राय कथामा पनि सुनायौं तर मन भरिएन । त्यतिले मात्रै यी भाकाहरूलाई, यी कलाकारहरूलाई न्याय गर्न सकिएन भन्ने लाग्यो र हामीले परिकल्पना गर्यौं लोक स्टुडियोको । धेरै अघिदेखि हाम्रो मनमा जन्मिएको लोक स्टुडियोको पहिलो स्वरूप आज तपाई‌माझ प्रस्तुत गरेका छौं ।

लोक स्टुडियो मार्फत हामी हिमाल पहाड र तराईका धुन र सुरलाई जोड्न चाहन्छौं । तपाईंको गाउँ ठाउँका गीतसंगीत र कलाकारका बारेमा थाहा दिएर तपाईं हाम्रो यो प्रयासमा हातेमालो गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ । तपाईंकै सल्लाह सुझावले लोक स्टुडियो अझै सुन्दर बनाउनुछ ।
