GF FLOURLESS BLACK BEAN BROWNIES

1 1/2 cups black beans (15-oz can, drained & rinsed)
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 cup quick oats
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup pure maple syrup (or 1/4 cup sugar for sweeter brownies)
1/4 cup coconut or vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips (to sprinkle on top)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8×8 pan. Combine all ingredients except chips in a good food processor or blender (texture will be better in a food processor.) Pour the batter into the greased pan and sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top. Bake the black bean brownies at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes, then let them cool about 10 minutes before trying to cut.



SCRIPT:

OK, gluten free gang, listen up! If you have never tried flourless brownies before, you NEED to try this gluten free recipe for black bean brownies. Now, I know what you are thinking... BEANS?!?! Yes, beans. These gluten free brownies are healthy, moist, AND extremely delicious. They are cheap enough for the whole family - even if you are on a gluten free diet. You can make them too!. Let me show you how...

Now, you could use a food processor, but we just mix everything up in our blender and it works great.

So start with 1 1/2 cups drained & rinsed black beans (which is basically 1 can). Then add all the dry ingredients which include 1/2 cup quick oats, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp baking powder. Then add 1/4 cup melted coconut oil or vegetable ol, 2 tsp vanilla. and 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (because we just made some) or you could use 1/4 cup sugar for slightly sweeter brownies.

Put the lid on and blend eveything REALLY well. Pour the batter into the greased pan and sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top just for fun. Bake the black bean brownies at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes, then let them cool about 10 minutes before trying to cut them.

Mom says you can keep them in the fridge overnight, but I would HIGHLY DOUBT that these brownies would BE THERE in the morning! My advice? Devour them with a tall glass of cold milk as. soon. as. possible!
