How to remove window screen on Tilt-In double hung windows

Note: In order to remove the screen THE TILT IN BOTTOM SASH TILTS TOWARDS YOU TO REVEAL THE SCREEN.

Step 1: Unlock the window

Step 2: Raise the lower glass window sash about 2-3"

Step 3: On the glass window Sash release tilt latches with fingertips and pull top of sash inward towards your body. Make sure to rest the window against you or have someone else help you hold it.

Step 4: On the top of the screen there are two (2) pull pins that need to be pulled down to free the screen before you can pull the screen out. Once the 2 pins are cleared, carefully pull the top of the screen in towards you, pull the screen towards you and then lift the screen out of the window. If the screen doesn't come freely you can cut a hole in the mesh towards the top to be able to get more leverage by pulling on the mesh instead of the latches.

TIP: The screen frame can bend so be careful not to bend the frame.
