Odissi Abhinaya (Kede Chanda) Aneesh Raghavan

Описание к видео Odissi Abhinaya (Kede Chanda) Aneesh Raghavan

Kede Chanda Jane lo sahi, a song that describes the wonders of little Krishna is undoubtedly one of the most popular lyrics in the odissi circle, composed by the medieval Odia Poet Banamali Das (1720-1793). This is clear from the fact that two principal Gurus of Odissi, namely Guru Sri Kelucharan Mahapatra and Guru Sri Debaprasad Das have both choreographed Abhinayas to it. While the choreography of the former is well defined and popular, the choreography of the latter has suffered and is still suffering many changes and modifications.
Here is a presentation of its version as practised and taught by Guru Smt. Sangeeta Dash for whom this piece was initially choreographed in the year 1975 by the Guru himself. In many aspects, this piece typifies the unique approach regarding Abhinaya in the tradition of Guru Sri Debaprasad Das.
