Tastemakers Malaysia returns in 2014 with a bang, bringing you a fresh new crop of trendsetters within their respective fields.

This Merdeka day, we celebrate young and influential Malaysians through the lens of Life Inspired’s original production, Tastemakers: Malaysia 2014. This year, we feature exclusive interviews with ‘Tastemakers’ who became successful in their own unique and unconventional approach towards their passions in life. These inspiring, up-and-coming personalities have taken the unconventional route in their careers and have gone on to be successful in their own ways. Take a look at how this young and inspiring group set the bar to be the cream of the crop. Behind every Tastemaker, there is an inspiring story to be told, stories of how they made their way to become trailblazers within their respective industries and pioneering trends that attracted bands of loyal followers.

Enter into the world of these ‘tastemakers’ featuring exclusive interviews sharing their inspiring life stories: co-founder of The Last Polka, Tee May Yee chose to give up her successful corporate career to co-own an ice-cream shop recreating their favourite memories through taste and texture; Farah Azizan is an architect and interior designer who worked with famed landscape architect Ng Sek San, her key projects such as Lone Pine, One Menerung, Sekeping Kong Heng, and PJ Trade Centre - which have received numerous awards; Cheeming Boey who was a lead animator for a game developer, and now a writer and artist best known for his illustrations on foam coffee cups and his daily webcomic “I Am Boey”; he seeks inspiration from uncommon places to bring together his sui generis fashion collection, Jonathan Liang has won numerous honours including the Best Collection Award in 2010 voted amongst Raffles Institute of Design students; the head of content innovation at Primeworks Studios, Marini Ramlan a.k.a. Nini, is well known for her art – where she has collaborated with the likes of FENDI, Nike, Levi’s and Nikon for illustrations, print designs, texture photography and art pieces; Benson Saw ditched his position as Motorola mechanical engineer to fulfil his childhood dream of becoming an architect, he is now a product designer for VW+BS.
