Focus on Energy Sustainability Award Press Conference | UW-Stout

On June 26, 2024, representatives from Wisconsin's Focus on Energy and Xcel Energy will present University of Wisconsin-Stout with an Energy Efficiency Excellence Award. The award recognizes, in part, the university's gains toward its goal of institutional sustainability and its commitment to the State of Wisconin’s 2050 net-zero initiative.

In the last six years, UW-Stout has received more than 23 incentives from Focus on Energy for energy savings measures including Energy Design Assistance, Mid-Stream, Custom and Prescriptive School & Government incentives. Most recently, the University completed an energy savings contract with Trane Technologies which included multi-building lighting upgrades to LED and solar PV installation on three buildings. In 2017, the University received incentives from Focus on Energy for lighting and HVAC energy savings projects. Currently, the University is a member of Xcel Energy's Partners in Energy program.
