Gamalan Banjar in Barikin, South Kalimantan [Kalimantan Selatan]

Описание к видео Gamalan Banjar in Barikin, South Kalimantan [Kalimantan Selatan]

Gamalan Banjar is an often-overlooked gamelan form played by the Banjar people of South Kalimantan (the Indonesian part of Borneo.) Brought to the area from Java hundreds of years ago, the music and the various art forms it accompanies (from wayang kulit shadow puppet theater to tari topeng masked dance) have evolved into a uniquely "Banjar" form.

In this video, the community ensemble Sanggar Anak Pandawa of Barikin Village play an extended suite of pieces:

0:00 - Lasam Tangah
1:48 - Ayakan Mula-Mula
6:55 - Udu-Udu
7:24 - Paparangan Satangah
9:18 - Udu-Udu [Reprise]
9:44 - Lagu Pantang
12:30 - Udu-Udu [Reprise]
12:59 - Jinggung
