Unique technique of Gynecomastia Surgery | Dr Rajat Gupta , Plastic Surgeon , Delhi

In this video, Dr. Rajat Gupta (board-certified plastic surgeon working in Delhi) will tell us about the unique technique of gynecomastia surgery.

Gynecomastia is a very common problem and is found once in every 6-7 men. The most common cause of gynecomastia is adolescent hypertrophy breast issue. In this, due to hormonal issues, breast tissues are formed in male bodies. This can cause even if the hormonal issue is for only some time during the teenage. This tissue cannot be removed by the means of medicines or hormone therapy and can only be removed by the means of surgery. This surgery is purely cosmetic and has no effects on one’s health. Not doing this surgery is also perfectly fine as these tissues don’t affect one’s health other than appearance.

Even after going through the surgery, scars still remain which can mar one’s confidence. In Dr. Gupta’s technique, a small cut of size 3-4 mm is made on the side of one’s torso. Then through that aperture, a tool known as microaire is inserted which breaks the gland into multiple small pieces. And then these pieces are removed by the means of a special instrument called a tendon tunneler. This technique is unique and very hard to do as it needs specialized tools and skills.

Another technology, known as a vaser, is also used in gynecomastial surgery. In this, the skin is heated from a 3-4mm hole and the skin is tightened from inside. Another technology is also present called bodytite. Dr. Gupta has mastered all three of these techniques to get the optimum results for the patient.
