Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a leading public central university located in the city of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The university has received the Institute of National Importance honour under Seventh Schedule, Article 246 of Indian Constitution.

AMU has 12 faculties that comprise 98 departments, 15 centres and three academies with 28,000 students, about 1,342 teachers and nearly 5,610 non-teaching staff members. Besides, it has three centres at Kishanganj (Bihar), Malappuram (Kerala) and Murshidabad (West Bengal).

Aligarh Muslim University Admission
Admission to the majority of programmes is granted based on the candidate's merit and score in the qualifying degree, AMU conducts department and university-level entrance tests for some courses.

Candidate must have at least 50% aggregate in qualifying degree to be eligible for the admission
*Candidate must fill in the admission form on the official university website
*Candidates must have a valid NEET score for MBBS/BDS and BUMS courses and a valid NEET PG score for MD/MS
*GATE qualified candidates are eligible for applying for MTech programmes. *AMU conducts AMUEEE for BArch and BTech admissions
*Admissions for BA (H), BSc (H), BCom (H) and BSW are based on the recipient's score in the entrance test
*For admission in BRIT, BPEd, BLiSc and BSc (H) in Agricultural Science and Foreign Languages, the applicant will have to clear the admission test conducted by the respective department of the university
