Earlier this week, oThongathi in KwaZulu-Natal was hit by a tornado and has been the worst affected by Monday's storm.

The province has set up service stations to coordinate humanitarian aid distribution.

The death toll in the province is at 12, with a total of 17 thousand people affected.

Five other areas suffered damage in the storm in the province.
