Why NOT to sell on Takealot

Hey guys, it's Andy here with another video. Today, I'm discussing the end of selling on Takealot and the recent changes affecting small businesses.

Takealot introduced a rule requiring sellers to send stock to both Joburg and Cape Town distribution centers (DCs) to ensure same-day delivery. This is tough for small businesses due to cash flow and inventory management issues. If you don't get orders from a specific DC, they block your ability to restock there, making it impossible to meet their requirements.

I've talked to other sellers, and everyone is facing the same problem. Takealot's support has been unhelpful, and their rules contradict themselves, making compliance nearly impossible.

Given these challenges, it might be time to explore alternatives like Amazon or Shopify. Shopify, a sponsor of this video, lets you create your own website, manage customer info, and build brand visibility.
