The Path for Next Generation Optics

OIF is at the forefront in defining protocol agnostic specs now to address the performance and sustainability requirements of future data centers. These are pushing the boundaries of next generation data rates, alternate line card architectures, standardized management interfaces, shorter reach coherent optics and most importantly, energy efficient interfaces to realize optical networks optimized for AI/ML workloads and power requirements. In this session we provide updates on these critical projects and share thoughts on meeting next generation data center requirements.
