Mount Akina in Initial D (manga/anime) is where the main character Takumi Fujiwara delivers tofu and where numerous downhill races take place. Mount Akina is modeled after Mount Haruna in Gunma Prefecture. The pass is Prefectural Route 33 in Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture.

Mount Haruna is one of the three mountains of Jomo in Gunma Prefecture in the northern part of the Kanto region, and has been the subject of mountain worship since ancient times. Haruna Shrine is enshrined at the southwest foot of the mountain.

Lake Haruna, located at an altitude of 1,100 meters, was created by volcanic activity of Mount Haruna, one of the three mountains of Jomo.
It is the most popular outdoor spot in Takasaki City, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery and nature all year round. You can enjoy boating, sightseeing cruises, auto camping, and more in the fresh air.
