Quick run down on this specific Mercedes SL500 convertible roof problem. In this video, we discover a different reason why the convertible top isn't operating properly. I mention that there might be a part two to explain the remedy, but there will not be. The lubrication of the hooks on the front of the roof panel assisted in the smooth operation, but it was then discovered, that the heat is causing the hydraulic motor to overheat, and not operate. If I park it in the shade, it operates fine almost every time. I believe, that the hydraulic motor, is just old and tired, and needs replacement.
