Heartbreaking Reality: Nurses vs. Violent Patients

One of the primary dangers of nursing in the context of violence against patients is the risk of physical harm to the healthcare providers themselves. #nurses who are caring for patients who exhibit violent behavior are at risk of being physically assaulted, injured or even killed. I have worked with so many nurses with horrible stories just like Chelsea Mora who was punched by a patient while trying to check his patient’s vital signs. My friend Rose who was violently beat up by a patient who was mentally ill. But despite these scary moments in our lives we deeply love being a nurse. The only thing we hope is someday there will be more protections for all healthcare providers against violent patients. #healthcareagaintsviolence
