Speaking to reporters after the Council meeting, the ambassador criticized the report's release as “hurried” and noted that it had been sent to media outlets before the government of Sudan had a chance to respond to its findings.

When asked about the incoming U.S. administration, he remarked, “President Trump is a deal maker. We will be ready to strike a deal with him—we are not coming empty-handed. We have our blueprint to engage with the U.S. at all times.”
