In Weekly Update #87, we take a closer look at the upcoming EU Entry/Exit System (EES) and what it means for travellers and residents in Spain. 🇪🇺✈️ The EES will replace passport stamping for non-EU visitors, storing entry and exit data, facial images, and fingerprints — but there’s a lot of confusion about who’s affected and when it starts. Spain has confirmed its go-live date: 12 October 2025, with a full rollout by April 2026. We’ll break down exactly what’s changing, who’s exempt (including residents with TIE cards), and how Spain is preparing for the switch.
