Changing #3 sparkplug in a 4.3 S10

Описание к видео Changing #3 sparkplug in a 4.3 S10

This spark plug is the difficult one of the bunch, not that the others are all that great either. You are best off removing the front wheels and going in through the fender wells. Some can be reached from above. Number 3 is located right next to the steering shaft. Many remove the shaft from the steering box and move it to the side. This works but can be difficult dealing with the plastic cover. Also if the steering shaft is disconnected, be careful not to spin the steering wheel if you have and airbag! The clock spring will be damaged and steering wheel controls like the horn and airbag will not work.

5/8 sparkplug socket, swivel, extension and ratchet.

So far, of the many S10's I have done plugs on I've never had to remove the steering shaft. This short video shows you that it is possible to remove and replace #3 spark plug in under 3 minutes. This is a 1998 Chevy Blazer, video is in real time.
