After releasing two fully Arena-based games back-to-back FromSoftware was ready to get back to making a classic Armored Core game. Except for this game would be a standalone expansion to Nexus… the Armored Core game that changed the most about the core formula without fully dedicating to the Arena. This meant that FromSoftware had a massive question to answer: How much do we keep, and how much do we change? Armored Core: Last Raven is a 2005 third-person shooter mecha video game developed by FromSoftware for the PlayStation 2. It is the eleventh entry in the Armored Core series and a direct sequel to 2004's Armored Core: Nexus. In 2010, Armored Core: Last Raven was ported to the PlayStation Portable.
