My very first mandolin (long sold to help pay for other mandolins that are also long sold) was a Gretsch New Yorker that I bought in Ellensburg, WA when i was in grad school. I loved that instrument, even though I recognize now that it was clearly a pile of junk and really help me back from learning. 🤷🏻‍♂️
