Former President Ian Khama on assassination attempts

Описание к видео Former President Ian Khama on assassination attempts

Former Botswana president Ian Khama expands on plots to kill him, including three attempts to poison him, in this revealing GGA interview with GGA SADC Executive Director Chris Maroleng. Khama is also drawn out on his other allegations against his political opponents, and gives his take on the leadership style of current Botswana president, Mokgweetsi Masisi. Ian Khama was president of Botswana from 2008 to 2018, when he resigned from office. He was succeeded by President Masisi, his vice president and chairman of the Botswana Democratic Party, but since then, animosity between the two men has grown exponentially. Three intelligence agencies from states outside of Botswana have, in the past, issued credible warnings of threats to Khama’s life, and in this interview, Khama details the harassment of his family, including his brother and his brother’s American wife, who he says was held in police cells and tortured for two days.

This is Part 1 of a two-part series.
