However, the reality behind this is that Indian Singers do not get paid to sing songs. For the record breaking song "Naina", Diljit was not paid anything. Most of the money is kept by record labels, a market dominated by T-Series, Sony Music and Tips Official. The dominance of Music labels is exposed in movies like Chamkila and Rockstar.

Indian singers fought for their rights and got the Copyright Amendment Act, 2012 passed, which ensured "royalties" to singers. However, the same is bypassed in India. The only source of income for Indian singers is either to go independent like most Indie singers or focus on concerts through which they can earn money. This videos exposes the dark reality of Indian Music Industry.
