STORY: When Adversity Knocks

A young girl once went to her father and said,
“Daddy, life feels too hard. Problems keep coming, and I don’t know how to handle them.”

Her father, a chef, smiled and took her to the kitchen. He boiled three pots of water. In the first pot, he put carrots, in the second, eggs, and in the third, coffee beans.

After a while, he took them out and asked—
“My dear, what do you see?”

She replied, “Carrots, eggs, and coffee.”

Her father explained—

“The carrot went in strong and hard, but after boiling, it became soft and weak.
The egg was fragile, but the hot water made it hard inside.
The coffee beans, however, changed the water itself, turning it into delicious coffee.”

He then looked at his daughter and said—
“When adversity (difficulties) knocks, you can be like the carrot and lose strength,
like the egg and become hard-hearted,
or like the coffee beans—turn your struggle into something new and better.”

The girl smiled, realizing she wanted to be like the coffee beans.

Moral of the Story: When life gets tough, don’t let it break you. Instead, use challenges to grow stronger and bring positive change.
