Complete life cycle of the Red Pierrot Butterfly.
It is small in size but has striking colours, patterns, a very atrective butterfly.
All the stages are video recorded from egg, larva, caterpillar, pupa (Chrysalis) and emerging of butterfly from pupa.

Butterflies are important for human beings and for our Ecosystem.

In Hindi it is called रूबाई and in Marathi लाल झेंडा.
Scientific name: Talicada nyseus
Main host plant: Kalanchoe plant / Kalankhoe pinnata / Bryophyllum pinnatum / Calycinum
Nector plant: Amaranthaceae and Acanthaceae families.
It likes small flat open petal flowers the most because of it’s small proboscis.
All video recordings are done at my home window garden.
