Wolfe Island is the largest of the Thousand Islands. It is also home to one of Canada's largest wind farms. When Mike Jablonicky came to work there, he immediately fell in love. Now he and his wife are planning to spend the rest of their lives on Wolfe Island. He has already chosen a suitable grave in the local cemetery. Rob White also shares this attachment to the land. He grew up on Wolfe Island and is the fourth generation to live here. In summer, he organises the highlight of the year for the island: a round-up, a kind of rodeo, in which his ten-year-old son now wants to take part for the first time. He goes to the only school on the island with 21 other children. All the children are taught in a single room until the eighth grade.

The subjects are the same, only the level of difficulty differs. Just across the coast is Kingston, one of Canada's oldest cities. There, Mark Bennett commands one of the best drill teams in the world at Fort Henry. The 19-year-old psychology student Abbey Lee Hallett has her big performance tonight, the first time she has to show off her skills in front of a thousand spectators after two months of practice.
