Zukanye is a finance intern at Momentum Metropolitan, originally from East London. She studied a BCom in financial accounting and economics at the University of the Western Cape, after initially wanting to pursue law but being deterred by the perception of low earnings. Despite finding some accounting subjects very challenging, she persevered with the support of her pastor. At Momentum, Zukanye is spearheading governance and systems projects as the first intern in her department. Her manager has helped her apply theoretical learning in a real workplace. This experience has sparked her interest in potentially becoming a chartered accountant and aspiring for executive roles like CFO or CEO in the future. Her advice is to intentionally explore career options and seek mentors.
