Hi all,

Welcome to new bass day. I love it when I can try out, or in this case, own a new bass. It is one of those moments where you feel like the kid in the candy store, and you get all excited, all while your kids start asking, "is Daddy ok?"

This one is a little unique, a little special and a little bit of a sin in the bass-playing world, more strings than a guitar! 😱 When I was in music college and one of our tutors, Paul Geary, told us about the story of his first proper session gig. Turned up with a 6 string Warwick Thumb and the guitarist (very famous cannot remember who, though) turned around and said, "I play the only guitar in this band". Paul went out and bought a MusicMan StingRay the same day, never looked back. This led me to believe I was only allowed 4 strings.

However, with my new found love of bass live looping, I genuinely believe there is a good use for some extra strings in my playing. So here we are; 7 string bass finds its way to the channel..... I am so excited!!!

My current live looping setup is as follows:
ZOOM B1X Four multi-effects, amp simulation and expression; into
Boss RC10R, with separated loop and drum channels, support by two FS-5U boss external footswitches for track selection and all break; into
PreSonus Audiobox USB audio interface; into
Either Bandlabs (for pure audio recording) or Techsmith Camtasia for live loop videos.
