Mr. and Mrs. Tazaki, a young couple, are blessed with their first baby girl named Keiko. However, Keiko is a child having hearing difficulties. When Keiko is grown up, she encounters many obstacles and attends a school for the deaf.

"Donguri no ie" is a very obscure 1997 movie animation produced by Ajiado, on the behalf of the Japanese Federation of the Deaf. Since it is bearer of a positive message, it'd be really too bad to let it disappear, even though I haven't found the best possible footage. Anyone can watch and understand it through its captions, which is the reason for its inclusion on the External Finds playlist. I don't know where these subtitles come from, so I assume they were added post-production to touch a wide English speaking audience during Festival screenings. I cannot be categorical about it, though. No known ripper is listed on anidb. Directed by the Chief-Director of Maison Ikkoku (Ohhh...) and Director of Ankoku Shinwa (Hmm. Not the proudest career highlight), Takashi Annou. Funnily enough, the second chara-designer, Yoshiaki Yanagida also worked on Ankoku Shinwa!
