In this video how to make pottery and how potter lives has been answered. It reflects towards the life of a pottery artist as its a lost art now. This video captures a pot maker from midnapore.
This piece is a documentary that showcases the whole process of Pottery which was covered in Padima, West Midnapore, West Bengal.

The story revolves around our character, Jitendra Nath Bera. He works as a potter for last 40 years. He demonstrates the whole process to us on pot making. Starting from collecting soil to finishing the pots.

But the problem lies somewhere else. An average potter earns Rs 5000-6000 per month, which is never enough to run the family. Hence they are pushing their successors to other fields.

People nowadays preferring more Chinese products, instead of local made Indian products. In 2017 along India exported $61 billion pottery gods from China.

To keep this Art alive, we all need to help these Artists. If we buy and use potter goods, its help them and their family.
