(11 Mar 2021) Hundreds marched in Buenos Aires on Wednesday to claim justice over Argentine football legend Diego Maradona's death.
Maradona's youngest son, Diego Fernando, and his mother, Veronica Ojeda, were accompanied by a large group of bodyguards at the march.
Ojeda said they were at the demonstration to accompany their son and to "demand justice".
Maradona's ex-wife Claudia Villafañe and his daughters Dalma and Gianinna Maradona were also present at the demonstration, dressed in a white T-shirt with the slogan "Justice for God".
Their presence sparked some pushing and shoving among the fans.
The demonstration was organized through social media after a series of audio recordings of alleged phone calls between Maradona's doctors and his staff were released as part of a documentary.
Maradona died on 25 November 2020, and the Argentine judiciary is conducting an investigation into possible wrongdoing on his care following brain surgery earlier that month.
The 60-year-old former player died of a heart attack at a house in a gated community of Buenos Aires, where he was living during his rehabilitation.
Investigators determined no violence was involved in the case, but the prosecutor initiated an investigation into possible medical negligence that has led to Maradona's death, which caused an outpouring of emotion across Argentina and among football fans around the globe.
