Cropped to 14:9 (actually 19:12 to fit neatly into all YouTube resolutions) because the VHS is letterboxed, also lets you zoom in on the detail (or lack thereof) a little more.

Footage taken from The Ultimate Guide to Snakes (1997 VHS). Footage belongs to the Discovery channel (now owned by Warner Bros.)

For the Domesday Duplicator, the capture at first looked out of phase. Browns looked red, cyan looked teal, etc. After researching a bit, I realized that gen_chroma_vid.sh (part of VHS-Decode) would not accept a command parameter for chroma gain and phase like ld_chroma_decode (part of LD-Decode and the VHS-Decode fork). So I went into the source code and modified it myself so it would accept those parameters. I did the most Linux thing you can do. 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧

Once I modified it, I did my best to make the colors on the Domesday capture look as natural as possible. When viewing it side by side, it almost makes the other ones look too saturated to be natural.

● Assembled, normalized audio amplitudes and saved to GoPro Cineform "Best" quality in DaVinci Resolve
